Bridal Showers: Fun Games and Favor Ideas

Bridal Showers: Fun Games and Favor Ideas

Bridal showers are a time of fun and celebration. But when hosting a shower, it is often difficult to come up with party favors and games. However, it doesn’t have to be. There are a lot of fun games and party favors out there that are sure to be a hit at any shower. When planning a bridal shower, begin by selecting a theme and mood for the shower. This will help the rest of the planning to fall into place.

BINGO
A classic game of bingo can easily be turned into a great shower game. Simply make up bingo cards using items from the bride’s gift registry. Then, hand out the cards to each of the guests before the bride begins opening her gifts. Anytime the bride opens a gift that is on the bingo card, the guest gets to mark off that block on their card. Once someone has completed a line, they win the game.

What’s In Your Purse?
Another great shower game is What’s in Your Purse? Compose a list of approximately 50 items that are typically found in a woman’s purse. Then, pass out the list to each of the guests. Have them retrieve their purses and mark off any items from the list that they currently have in their purse. The guest with the most items on the list is the winner.

Who Knows the Bride?
This is a great game to see how well each guest knows the bride. Compose a list of questions pertaining to the bride. You could ask questions such as “how long have the bride and groom been together” or “what is the bride’s middle name”. Then, ask the guests the questions to see who can come up with the most correct answers. Again, the winner is the one guest who has the most answers right.

Party Favors: No Party is Complete without Them
Party favors are an important part of any bridal shower. They are an excellent way to say thank you to any guest who attends the shower. Personalized candy bars make a great wedding favor. You can simply purchase an ordinary candy bar and replace their wrapper with your own. On the wrapper, use the bride and groom’s name and wedding date. Pink Polka Purse Manicure Set also make a great wedding shower favor. Votive candles also make inexpensive bridal shower favors. You can purchase tulle circles in colors that coordinate with the wedding for wrapping the votive candles. They too can be personalized with ribbon.

Bridal showers can be a lot of fun to plan and host. However, it is important to make sure you plan out the shower completely. By taking the time to plan and coordinate the games and favors with the rest of the wedding, you are sure to have a shower that is a hit.

Bridal Showers: A Piece of Cake

Published by admin under Pre-wedding Parties

Bridal showers are not only fun, but they are also very practical. The idea behind a bridal shower is to give the bride gifts that she will be able to use as she begins her new life. But it is also great time for family and friends to get together and celebrate the bride’s upcoming marriage.

When to Party
Bridal showers are generally held a couple of months prior to the actual wedding. This allows the bride the weeks prior to her wedding to make all of the last minute preparations. You don’t want to overwhelm the bride with too many things all at once. After all, her wedding is supposed to be a fun and memorable time.

Just the Girls
In today’s society, co-ed showers are very popular. Therefore, when throwing a bridal shower, you will need to decide whether you will have an all girl shower or a couple’s shower. If you choose to go with a couple’s shower, then you will need to make sure that your party reflects a co-ed shower and not be extremely “girly”.

It is all a Matter of Location
When planning a bridal shower, you will need to decide where to have the shower. The number of guests will play a large part in where you will want to have the party at. Many hostesses decide to have the party at a local restaurant or at the hostess house. However, if you have too many people, you may want to consider booking a banquet hall to host the event.

What to Eat
When planning a bridal shower, you will need to decide what type of food you want to serve. If you are having the party at a restaurant or banquet hall, you can choose to let them cater the event. However, if you are having the party at your home, you will need to decide if you want to have a sit down meal or simply serve finger foods.

Saying Thank You
Party favors are a great way to say thank you to the guests who attend the party. When purchasing bridal shower favors, be sure to keep in mind the theme and flare of the shower. You may choose to pass out simple favors such as small candy bars with personalized wrapper or boxes of candy.

Bridal showers are a great way for family and friends to celebrate with the bride and possibly the groom, before the big day. Make sure that you plan the shower several months before the wedding day, so the bride has time to focus on other things as the wedding draws closer. With some simple planning and creativity, you are sure to throw a bridal shower that will not soon be forgotten.
