Champagne Wedding Favors: Essential Wedding Planning Guidance

Published by savvy bride under Wedding Favors

When a couple is going to be wed, they will be looking for the ideal item to place on tables at the reception as favors for their guests. They may wish to consider champagne wedding favors to show their thanks for all their friends and family joining them in their celebration. The bottles do not have to be full-sized and most will use small two or three-ounce champagne bottles with a custom label containing the information about the couple and the wedding date. Some champagne wedding favors may even have a photograph of the bride and groom on the label.

A word of warning if choosing champagne wedding favors is that if there are persons attending the wedding that are too young to drink, the favors must not be left unattended on the tables. It is also possible to have non-alcoholic drinks placed in bottles that look like champagne.

The drink inside the bottles can also be used to toast the bride and groom during the traditional toast to the couple. In cases where the champagne wedding favors are meant for the guests to take with them, it should be announced at the beginning of the evening, so anyone who chooses can keep it unopened.

Provide Favors As A Memory
For hundreds of years wedding favors were seen as a gift of gratitude for those attending the wedding and the reception. Old traditions included candy-coated almonds, often consumed during the reception. By offering champagne wedding favors the guests can leave at then end of the reception with a memory of the day as well as of the happiness shared by the couple.

Many champagne bottles have a foil wrap around the top to hold the cork in place and champagne wedding favors can be created with the foil in the same color as the wedding theme. These make attractive additions to the decoration on the table as well as the hall in which the reception is being held. Colors of the bottles can also be arranged to fit into the general theme of the reception.

Being able to find champagne wedding favors in the right colors, containing the right beverage to work into the celebration should not be difficult. But, in rare cases a couple may have a vintner friend that can supply a more personal, homemade champagne that can be used as champagne wedding favors. Personalizing the bottles with a custom label and applying a ribbon can greatly decorate the tables as well as the gift.

The Best Wedding Favors for a Fall Wedding

Fall Wedding FavorsSpring, summer and Christmas weddings are very popular but a lot of couples also like the idea of a fall wedding, when the leaves are changing color and the air is crisp. The brightly colored leaves look beautiful in wedding photos and the weather is likely to be pleasant. If you are thinking about getting married in the fall, there are a lot of fall wedding favors to choose from which your guests will love.

At thanksgiving, the cornucopia is often used as a harvest symbol and fall is harvest time. The harvest cornucopia is often heavy with many fruits and vegetables but what about cornucopias overflowing with candy instead for a wedding favor? You can buy mini cornucopias and fill them with any type of candy you like, such as hard candies, chocolates or mints.

Another harvest related idea is to give out seed packets, such as seeds for fruits, vegetables or flowers which are usually harvested in the fall. Alternatively, you could choose seeds for fruits, vegetables or flowers which are planted in the fall, so your guests can plant them after the wedding. This is a nice idea and can encourage your guests to appreciate nature and enjoy the outdoors.

Another very good idea for a wedding favor in the fall is to have coasters. These come in many different patterns and designs and you will find various options which are ideal for a fall wedding. Coasters are practical as well as being pretty. You might like to get coasters with red, gold and orange fall scenes or even coasters shaped like leaves. You can even get coasters with glass on top and a slit in the side, meaning your guests can put their own photos into the coasters or they might like to have a copy of one of your wedding photos to remind them of the wedding in future years.

You can get bookmarks shaped like leaves in fabrics such as linen and satin and in fall colors. These make a handy gift which can be used for many years, as well as being a cute and novel idea.

You might like to have candles as your wedding favors. To keep with the fall theme, you could choose candles which have fall colors and scents. Perhaps square, round, votive or tapered candles would be your choice and you can choose them in fall colors such as orange or deep red. Eggnog, pine and pumpkin are popular fall scents. When your guests burn these candles, they will remember your beautiful fall wedding.

A set of soaps shaped like leaves makes great Autumn Favors. You can get these soaps in different designs and colors and you might be able to choose the leaf type, such as oak or maple leaves. You can also get leaf-shaped soaps in different colors and a fall color such as orange or red would be appropriate for this wedding favor idea.

Today’s Challenge – Can Gel Candles stay well after a long flight?

Published by admin under Wedding Favors

Calla Lily Garden Glass Gel Candle Do you think this cally lily garden gel candle pretty? It’s a tall glass with 6 inches tall. One of my customers from UK ordered them today, I didn’t think about the shipping seriously before I sent the invoice to my customer. When I was about to process this order, I started to worry. Can the gel candles stay well after a long flight from US to UK? What will happen if someone turns the package upside down or drops the package during transit? I tried to do some search on internet, however, couldn’t find any answer about these. Fortunately I’m able to find a similar gel candle at home. I’m going to turn it upside down for whole night and see if it stays well in the morning or not.

Are there any other things I should concern? It’s the first time for me to ship gel candles outside the US.

Beautiful Yet Inexpensive Wedding Favors

Published by admin under Budgeting Tips, Wedding Favors

Rose Ball Candle in Gift Box with Free Personalized Gift TagWedding favors are an important part of any wedding. They give guests a memento to remember your wedding by, and they show your appreciation for their attendance and gifts. But wedding favors don’t have to break the bank.

Favors are usually sold in quantities. In most cases, the more you buy, the less your cost per favor. So if you want to save money, it’s best to buy one kind of favor for all of your guests. Here are some ideas for lovely yet inexpensive favors:

  • Keychains - These make wonderful wedding favors. They’re inexpensive, they can be found in an infinite number of colors and themes, and everyone uses them. Whether your wedding theme is whimsical or ultra-romantic, you can find a keychain favor that fits perfectly with it.
  • Bookmarks - Those little gold and silver bookmarks that clip onto the top of a page make elegant favors. They look expensive, but they are actually very reasonably priced. If you are the crafty type, you could also make your own custom bookmarks. All you’ll need is some card stock paper, embellishments, a laminator, and your creativity to make a one-of-a-kind bookmark favor.
  • Picture frames - Wallet-sized picture frames are a great wedding favor choice. Guests can use them to display your wedding photo or one of their own pictures. You can find very nice, festive frame favors at low prices online and in stores.
  • Candles and candleholders - Candles make practical yet romantic wedding favors. You can often find candles with their own holders at reasonable prices, or you could buy the candles and holders separately.
  • Candy - Filling small tins, pails, or boxes with festive candy makes a thoughtful and inexpensive gift for your guests. Nuts, candy kisses, or mints are some of the things you could fill them with. Adding some pretty ribbon or tulle will make these favors extra special.
  • Placecards or placecard holders that double as favors - It doesn’t get much more economical than finding a dual purpose for your favors. There are placecards and placecard holders available that double as picture frames, for example. These provide a clever way to save money. You could also use postcards related to your wedding theme as placecards, writing your guests’ names on the back of them.
  • Coaster sets - You can find coaster sets in a variety of themes online or at a wedding supply store. These are very useful for your guests, and they are often inexpensive.

Giving your guests wedding favors is thoughtful, and it doesn’t have to be expensive. In addition to these ideas, there are lots of other favors that you could make yourself. Whether you choose to make your own favors or buy them in bulk, they will serve as a precious token of your gratitude.

Bridal Showers: Fun Games and Favor Ideas

Bridal Showers: Fun Games and Favor Ideas

Bridal showers are a time of fun and celebration. But when hosting a shower, it is often difficult to come up with party favors and games. However, it doesn’t have to be. There are a lot of fun games and party favors out there that are sure to be a hit at any shower. When planning a bridal shower, begin by selecting a theme and mood for the shower. This will help the rest of the planning to fall into place.

BINGO
A classic game of bingo can easily be turned into a great shower game. Simply make up bingo cards using items from the bride’s gift registry. Then, hand out the cards to each of the guests before the bride begins opening her gifts. Anytime the bride opens a gift that is on the bingo card, the guest gets to mark off that block on their card. Once someone has completed a line, they win the game.

What’s In Your Purse?
Another great shower game is What’s in Your Purse? Compose a list of approximately 50 items that are typically found in a woman’s purse. Then, pass out the list to each of the guests. Have them retrieve their purses and mark off any items from the list that they currently have in their purse. The guest with the most items on the list is the winner.

Who Knows the Bride?
This is a great game to see how well each guest knows the bride. Compose a list of questions pertaining to the bride. You could ask questions such as “how long have the bride and groom been together” or “what is the bride’s middle name”. Then, ask the guests the questions to see who can come up with the most correct answers. Again, the winner is the one guest who has the most answers right.

Party Favors: No Party is Complete without Them
Party favors are an important part of any bridal shower. They are an excellent way to say thank you to any guest who attends the shower. Personalized candy bars make a great wedding favor. You can simply purchase an ordinary candy bar and replace their wrapper with your own. On the wrapper, use the bride and groom’s name and wedding date. Pink Polka Purse Manicure Set also make a great wedding shower favor. Votive candles also make inexpensive bridal shower favors. You can purchase tulle circles in colors that coordinate with the wedding for wrapping the votive candles. They too can be personalized with ribbon.

Bridal showers can be a lot of fun to plan and host. However, it is important to make sure you plan out the shower completely. By taking the time to plan and coordinate the games and favors with the rest of the wedding, you are sure to have a shower that is a hit.

Making It Yourself, Make it Unique

Published by admin under Wedding Favors

With all that you have to purchase and provide during a wedding, it can be difficult to get everything that you need on a tight budget. One of these items that can be made a little less expensive by doing it yourself is the wedding favors. This will allow your favors to be both unique and personal, while saving you money.

Here are a few tips to creating your own wedding favors. First, you will need to start thinking of this important detail early on. Most weddings can take a while to plan and you do not want to put off the wedding favors to the last minute, especially if you plan to make them yourself.

Next you need to think about you want to make, and then shop around so that you can find the best prices. Many times, you can get great deals after the holidays, such as Christmas or Valentine’s Day.

Think about how many items you will need and do not choose something that will be overwhelming to you. You’ll want to choose something you can do easily and will not become a burdensome task.

Take into consideration some of the following things when planning what you will make: what you enjoy doing, your wedding’s theme and colors, the time of the year, the mood you would like to set at your wedding, the message you want to convey to your guests, and you can even incorporate something unique about yourself and the groom to make the gift even more special to your guests.

Whatever you decide your guests will be sure to love your item because you put so much thought and effort into it. Remember, the guests are there because they love you and are wishing you well, not for the favor so do not stress over it too much.

How many wedding favors to buy?

Published by admin under Wedding Favors

When you think about how many wedding favors to buy, you may first decide how much you would like to spend and how many guests on your list. You can start doing research any time, but wait until you get your R.S.V.P. list. Now you have a rough idea of head count, you can then add 5-10% to your head count (just in case someone didn’t response to your R.S.V.P shows up, some may change their minds or in case of damage and double dipping). It is time to see how much you can spend on each favor. Let’s do some simple math. Let’s say you have $400 for the favors and 200 estimated head count. Then, you got $2 to spend on each head count. When you search for wedding favors online, you have to consider shipping & handling cost as well (which usually costs around 10% of the product value). So, you better search for something below $1.8 in order to stay within the budget. In fact, you have many choices if you have $1.8 for each wedding favors.

But what if you couldn’t find anything that you like or you want to give out something higher in value? You still have another choice. Instead of giving out wedding favors per guest, you can give one wedding favors per couple / family (please keep in mind that single guests and young adults get their own favors. You may consider buy some age appropriate favors for children).

To avoid any embarrassing scenes, it is better to have a few leftover favors than to seat guests without favors. After the wedding is over, you can send them to those who were invited but couldn’t come, along with the thank you note. Including some candid photos from the ceremony and reception will give them a glimpse of what they missed.

Are wedding favors necessary?

Published by admin under Wedding Favors

While giving out wedding favors is not a rule in a wedding, but it is a thoughtful way to show your appreciation for your guests’ attendance and give them a lasting memory of your big day. So, if budget allows, it is worth to think about it. Wedding favors are not necessarily expensive. Nowadays, it is not difficult to find quality wedding favors which are priced less than $1 and ready to be presented . Here are a few examples:-

Something new, old, borrowed, BLUE Seaside Original Coaster Set with Silver Starfish Charm
Garden Party Flip Flop Placecard Holders Love is in the Air Satin Cloud Sachet

The way how you present your wedding favors does make a difference. With some creativity, you can even make use of your wedding favors as a table centerpiece or create an elaborate centerpiece for your reception table. If you put some time and effort to think around it, you may find it is a smart way to cut cost for wedding decoration. I will address about this in the upcoming posts.

By the way, do you expect to receive wedding favor as a wedding guest? Why? I am interested to know.
